How to judge the electrode of the fusion splicer to be replaced?
Source: | Author:surfiber-Daisy | Published time: 2017-12-25 | 927 Views: | Share:

The first method is to use the arc discharge frequency calculation function of the optical fiber fusion splicer, that is, when the number of arc discharges of the optical fiber fusion splicer reaches the number of discharges manufactured by the manufacturer, a new electrode needs to be replaced. Usually, when the number of discharges of the arc reaches the specified value, the fiber fusion splicer will have corresponding prompts, and the user should replace the new electrode after seeing the prompt. Otherwise, the effect of the fiber fusion may be greatly reduced.

The second method is to determine whether the electrode needs to be replaced by the abnormal condition of the fiber fusion splicer during use. These anomalies include the fact that the fiber fusion splicer often indicates that the arc discharge is unstable when the fiber is spliced, the fiber fusion splicer cannot perform the discharge correction normally, and the tip of the electrode is severely oxidized. In this case, the electrode on the fiber fusion splicer needs to be replaced.

How to replace the electrode on the fusion splicer?

Precautions when replacing the electrode:

1. Make sure to remove the screws that secure the electrode with a suitable size screwdriver.

2. Avoid excessive force when tightening the screws

3. After replacing the new electrode, do not tighten the screw to the extent that the finger cannot be unscrewed, because the screw tightening may cause the loss of the fiber fusion to be greater, or even damage the circuit.

4. Do not damage the shaft or tip of the electrode. Any electrode that has been damaged should be discarded.

5. Electrodes should be replaced in pairs
