What's the differences between embedded type and straight through type fast connector?
1. straight through type fast connector
The optical cable is stripped and cut directly from the end to the top of the connector. There is no connection point inside the connector. No matching liquid is required. The connection point is on the surface of the connector. Therefore, the end face of the optical fiber is the connector end face, so it require high technology of fiber cutting surface, which directly affects connector performance. The structure of this type of product is very simple and can be applied to the repair of temporary optical fiber links, but it is not suitable for the use of FTTX access links. 2. Embedded type fast connector
A section of fiber is embedded in the ferrule, the fiber cable is stripped, cut, and then docked with the embedded fiber in the v-groove inside the connector. The V-slot is filled with a matching liquid. The end surface of the joint adopts a pre-grinding process. The pre-embedded fiber structure has high reliability and stability, and is therefore suitable for use in an indoor node of the FTTX access link.
