Insertion loss and return loss is the basic parameter of fast connector.

The insertion loss smaller, the fast connector better, The general requirement should be no more than 0.5dB. Surfiber fast connector insertion loss is less than 0.3Db..

Return loss is the ability of the connector to suppress the reflection of optical power on the link. The typical value should not be less than 25dB. The actual application of the connector, the pin surface after a special polishing process, can make the return loss greater, generally not less than 45dB. 2. Interchangeability, repeatability

Fast connectors are universal passive devices. For the same type of fiber-optic connector, they can generally be used in any combination and can be used repeatedly. Therefore, the introduced additional losses are generally within the range of less than 0.2 dB.
